Thursday, November 24
Feast with community in Polson
POLSON — Join the Polson community in a free made-from-scratch Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, Nov. 24. Meals will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Polson Senior Center. Volunteers are encouraged to bring homemade pies, rolls and salads. This event is for the entire community to feast together. To volunteer or for more information, call Tracy Plaiss at 406-471-2333.
Join Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot
POLSON — The ninth annual Polson Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held Thursday, Nov. 24th at 10 a.m. Start and finish at Century 21 Big Sky Real Estate (corner of Highway 93 and Highway 35). We will run a nice course down Highway 35 and around Mission Bay. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome. Advent services Wednesdays through Dec. 21
POLSON — Midweek Advent services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Nov. 30, and continue each Wednesday through Wednesday, Dec. 21. Soup supper will start at 5:30 p.m. with the services starting at 6:30 p.m. The theme is “The Ultimate Advent.”
Hear about life on ‘Mars’
POLSON — “A Year on Mars” by Carmel Johnston, will be Mission Mountain Audubon’s next program on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Polson Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome. Carmel Johnston, Commander of HI-SEAS Mission 4, will discuss what it is like to live for a year on Mars. The NASA-funded project constructed a habitat dome high on a Hawaiian volcano, similar to the harsh conditions and rocky terrain that future astronauts will encounter on the red planet.
Johnston grew up in Whitefish and earned a bachelor and a master degree in Land Resources and Environmental Science from Montana State University.

Community Dinner relocated
POLSON — Immaculate Conception Church hosts the free Community Dinner the first Friday of every month but on December 2 it coincides with the Polson Downtown Parade of Lights so the location is changing for December only. The Polson Business Association will be serving chili at the Hallmark Store and the Immaculate Conception Church will serve chili outside Mrs. Wonderful’s. Please join us before the parade.
Mission Valley Live presents ‘Two Bit Franks’
POLSON — Mission Valley Live presents “Two Bit Franks” on Friday, Dec. 2, at Polson High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. This concert brings homegrown original music, classic bluegrass and some great adaptations to tunes you never imagined. Two Bit Franks features some of the finest bluegrass musicians in Montana. Tickets are available at R & R Health Care Solutions, Ronan True Value in Ronan or First Interstate Bank and Vine & Tap in Polson. In-advance tickets sell for $13 each or tickets at-thedoor sell for $15 each. Admission is free for kids 18 years old and under. Parade with lights for Christmas
POLSON — The 2016 Parade of Lights for Lake County will take place at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Polson on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Trophies, prizes, Christmas tree lighting and the arrival of Santa are all on tap. “If it moves and has lights it’s an entry.” Categories for parade prizes are: agriculture, best Christmas message, commercial individual or family, judge’s vhoice, most humorous, non-profit and youth.
