AARP Smart Driver Course taught at library
POLSON — The Lake County Public Library will host an AARP Smart Driver Course on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 1-5 p.m. The library is pleased to be partnering with AARP to present this course. There are fees for the class materials. Pete Ridge will be teaching this class. This course will bring you up to speed with the latest driving strategies, auto safety features, as well as new State and local traffic laws. This class is designed for drivers 50+, but all drivers are welcome. Upon completion, you may be eligible to receive an auto insurance discount. Registration is required. Halloween theme planned for Story Time
POLSON — Thursdays at 9:15 a.m. at the North Lake County Public Library Story Time takes place. Join us to read books, make crafts and play games with your little ones! This program is geared for Kindergarten readiness ages 3-5, but everyone is welcome. The theme for Oct. 27 is Halloween.

POLSON — Grab your gals for an evening of shopping, food, drinks and deals in downtown Polson this Friday, Oct. 28 from 4-8 p.m. Costumes encouraged!
Wags and Whiskers fundraiser held for MVAS
RONAN — Support Mission Valley Animal Shelter at their fundraiser held on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Ronan Community Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. for cocktails. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. We have an amazing Chef lined up for our event who will be make Prime Rib with some awesome side dishes (spinach salad with sundried tomatoes, apples, feta cheese with a poppy seed vinaigrette, mascarpone mashed potatoes, Hon Cot Verts with blistered cherry tomatoes and rolls.) We will also have a vegetarian option of stuffed spaghetti squash. We have an equally amazing Pastry Chef lined up for the desserts. We have an AMAZING Chef lined up for our event who will be making Prime Rib with some awesome side dishes (spinach salad with sundried tomatoes, apples, feta cheese with a poppy seed vinaigrette, mascarpone mashed potatoes, Hon Cot Verts with blistered cherry tomatoes and rolls.) We will also have a vegetarian option of stuffed spaghetti squash. We have an equally amazing Pastry Chef lined up for the desserts. POLSON — Sign up to serve or host a “trunk” at the New Life Church Trunk or Treat, held from Oct. 29, from 4-6 p.m. Candy donations are now being accepted.

Mission Valley Youth Foundation application deadline set
POLSON — It’s Festival time! Festival of Trees that is. This will be the Festivals 22nd year in Polson. Mark your calendar for Saturday, Dec. 3. The Festival generates funds for the Mission Valley Youth Foundation. This allows us the opportunity to serve a greater number of youth based organizations, programs and charities in the Mission Valley. The Mission Valley Youth Foundation solicits applications from youth based non-profit programs within the Mission Valley. If you are a youth based non-profit entity and would like to request funding, you can pick up an application form from one of our board members or submit an email to: mvyouthfoundation@gmail.com. Please include your mission statement and a short description detailing your monetary request. Mission Valley Youth Foundation would also like the community to reach out to us with your suggestions of youth organizations that you’d like to see supported. The deadline for submission is Oct. 31, 2022. Thank you for your continued support of the Festival of Trees and Mission Valley Youth Foundation.
