POLSON — Heart to Heart will be playing at the dance on Wednesday, Nov. 12. They are entertaining us once again to wonderful rock and roll. Show up at the Elks and dance from 7-10 p.m. Treats are simply excellent, so keep them coming. Come and join the fun at the Elks. 

POLSON — Hi everyone it is almost time for our “Ladies Night Out.” We will have this event every second Thursday, (Nov. 13). of the month at the Polson VFW upstairs banquet room from 6:30-9:30 p.m. We will have a quarter action with all proceeds going to a local family in need. POLSON — Jim Rogers will present the “Winter Birds of the Mission Valley” at the next Mission Mountain Audubon program on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Polson Library meeting room. The slide presentation will introduce the wide variety of birds that may be observed in our area this winter. Jim is a lifelong birder who teaches bird classes and leads field trips to see birds. Everyone is welcome.

POLSON — A monthly free program takes place the second Thursday of each month at the Miracle of America Museum in Polson. Everyone is welcome on Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. for the showing of the documentary film “Smoke on the Waters,” a movie about the early days of steam boating on Flathead Lake. A tour of the boating memorabilia collection will precede the film. For more information, call Gil at (406) 883-6264. 

POLSON — A free November Friendship Table Dinner is dinner will be served on Nov. 14, from 5-7 p.m. Polson Presbyterian Church is located across from the Linderman School. Come join us. This dinner is free and open to all.

POLSON — Polson’s mayor, Heather Knutson, will speak on “What’s New in the City of Polson,” at the Friday, Nov. 14, meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club. The group gets together at 11:30 a.m. for a social time. The meeting starts at noon and adjourns at 1 p.m. The group meets at the Polson Rural Fire Hall on Regatta Road near the fairgrounds. Anyone interested in learning more about the issues facing Polson is cordially invited to attend the meeting.

POLSON — A multi-family garage sale is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, at the United Methodist Church in Polson, 301 Sixteenth Ave. E. Doors will open at 8 a.m. and close at 3 p.m. Food will be available for purchase. The church is open from 1-5 p.m. through Friday of this week to receive items for the garage sale. All proceeds from the sale will help fund church mission projects. Call (406) 883-6161, with questions.

POLSON — The third annual Hunter’s Widow Holiday Bazaar will take place on Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Elks Lodge, 512 Main Street, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 

Get an early start on all of your shopping needs! All kinds of vendors will showcase their items in one convenient location. Admission is free but nonperishable food donations will be collected.

All money raised from vendor table fees and food donations will be divided and go to the Ronan Bread Basket and Polson Loaves and Fishes Pantry.

POLSON — Ken’s Country Combo will play for the Community Dance on Wednesday at the Elks from 7-10 p.m. The Elks Club has a beautifully re-done floor. Come and see for yourself and enjoy the music along with all of your friends. Treats are wonderful as always, so bring some to share. 

POLSON — Polson Ski Club sign up and rental night will be held Wed., Nov. 19, from 4-6 p.m. at Polson High School in the commons. 

Students may rent skis, boots and poles for the season. A season bus pass is $40 and from December through March the bus leaves each Saturday at 7 a.m. for Big Mountain. 

New this year is a Polson ski card for $20. The ski card entitles a student to five half-price, all day ski tickets when he or she rides the bus to Big Mountain. 

Parents should come to sign the permission/medical form so their students can ride the bus.

POLSON — On Friday, Nov. 21, from 4-9 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., the annual Holiday Bazaar will be held at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. The first 30 people in the door each day will receive a free gift from the KwaTaqNuk.

POLSON — The Parents as Teachers program of the Lake County Public Health Department is sponsoring a “Community Connection” event that is open to all area parents and their children on Friday, Nov. 21, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The lunchtime event will take place in the Department’s conference room at 802 Main Street. 

This month’s topic will be “Cooking with Thanksgiving Leftovers.” Guest speaker Nori Pearce from the Lake County Extension Office will be on hand to give us tips and answer questions. Family support specialists will provide information about the Parents As Teachers program, and lunch will be provided. There will also be a drawing for door prizes.

POLSON — The Mission Valley Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest will take place Sunday, Nov. 23, at Linderman Gymnasium. Boys and girls ages 8-13, (as of April 1, 2015), from Polson, Ronan and surrounding areas, may compete. There is no cost to participate and no admission charged. Free registration and warm up starts at 11:30 a.m. and the contest begins at noon. Boys and girls compete separately in the following categories: 8-9 years old, 10-11 years old and 12-13 years old.

POLSON — A Red Cross Blood drive will be held in Polson on Tuesday, Nov. 25, between noon and 5 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1002 Fourth Ave. E.
