POLSON — The annual Fall Bazaar and Luncheon at the First United Methodist Church, 301 Sixteenth Ave. E, is on Friday, Nov. 6. 

Art, homemade crafts and baked goods will be sold from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Soup and sandwiches, topped off with an apple dumpling and ice cream, will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. 

Proceeds will be used for local and church-wide mission outreach.

POLSON — A benefit pancake breakfast for Thelma Mae Briney will be held from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Cherry Valley School. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Thelma is the daughter of Brad and Mandy Briney and the granddaughter of Paul and Kathy Briney. Thelma has been diagnosed with a rare form of children’s cancer and is being treated in Seattle. Her parents and 5-year-old brother will stay with her during her 6-8 month treatment and will be unable to work. Please attend the breakfast or donate to the Thelma Mae Briney fund at First Interstate Bank in Polson. Prayers are greatly appreciated.

POLSON — A free training to help reduce suicide will be offered Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at New Life Christian Center in Polson. Those who attend the full 8-hour training will receive three certifications: Mental Health First Aid Certification, C.A.L.M. Certification (Conversation about Access to Lethal Means Certification), and Question, Persuade, Refer Certification.

Dr. Ferguson will also preach a message on the topic on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. This is open to the community. For more information, call the church at 406-883-2447.

POLSON — Mission Valley Ice Arena Committee is calling all ice hockey players, curlers, skating enthusiasts, and the general public to a meeting on Monday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m. in the Echo Room of the Red Lion Inn to discuss its plans for building a refrigerated ice rink in Polson. A business plan summary, the architectural firm conceptual plan for the Ice Arena, will be on hand for the public to view.

POLSON — Linderman School will again honor our veterans on Nov. 11. We are inviting all veterans to our assembly and for lunch following it. Halls are being decorated now and we are looking for more photographs and stories.

POLSON — "The Nature of Night:  What We've Lost, What We've Found" by John Ashley will be Mission Mountain Audubon's next evening program on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. in the North Lake County Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome. 

POLSON — The November Friendship Table Dinner is on Friday, Nov. 13, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Polson Presbyterian Church, located across from the Linderman School. Come join us. This dinner is free and open to all.

POLSON — The fourth annual “Hunter Widows' Holiday Bazaar’ will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Elks Lodge, 512 Main Street, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Get an early start on all of your holiday shopping needs. All kinds of vendors showcasing their items will be in one convenient location. Admission is free but nonperishable food donations will be collected. All proceeds from vendor table fees and food donations will be donated to local food banks. For more information call 406-249-3373.

POLSON – The Flathead Reservation Area Historical Society will hold a meeting on Monday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m. in the large conference room of the Lake County Court House. All members and interested community members are invited to attend.

POLSON — On Tuesday, Nov. 17, the Lake County Health Department’s Parents as Teachers program’s Community Connection for November will focus on “Turkey Fun” with an art activity and snacks. This community event will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Public Health Department’s conference room, 801 Main Street. Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of 5 are welcome to attend this free program. This is a good chance to meet other families with young children and to learn more about the free Parents as Teachers Home Visiting program. Call LCPH at 406-883-7288, for more information.

POLSON — Lake County Democrats will hold a business meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 18, to discuss issues regarding the upcoming 2016 election. The meeting will be at the North Lake County Public Library in Polson. POLSON — Members of the Flathead Basin Commission will meet on Nov. 18 from 10 a.m.-3:45 p.m. at Lake County Environmental Health building, 106 Fourth Ave. E. The meeting will focus on FBC specific issues, including but not limited to: FBC administration and funding; and pending FBC Action Plan for 2016-2020. Two afternoon presentations are also planned.
