Free meatloaf dinner served
POLSON — Where’s the meatloaf? A “Free Fifth Friday Dinner” will be served on Dec. 30, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Polson Community Church, 1814 First Street E.

McDonald to speak at Chamber lunch
POLSON — The first Polson Chamber meeting of 2017 will feature Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes’ Communications Director Robert McDonald. The luncheon meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the KwaTaqNuk Resort from noon-1 p.m. A graduate of Western Montana University with a degree in journalism, McDonald worked as a reporter for several newspapers, including the Spokesman Review, before becoming CSKT’s Communications Director in 2006. He also serves as an Associate Justice to the Tribal Appellate Court. Cost of the luncheon is $11. Reservations for the luncheon are not required. Club welcomes speaker from Hope Project
POLSON — Please join the Kiwanis Club on Thursday, Jan. 5, at the KwaTaqNuk Resort, Koostatah Room from noon-1 p.m., when our guest speaker will be Caroline McDonald who is the coordinator for the Hope Project. Dr. LeeAnna Muzquiz and Dr. Jamie Straub will join her. The program structures around helping moms to receive non-judgmental prenatal care and connect them with services unique to their situation such as transportation to medical appointments, addiction counseling and help developing lifelong goals. The Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursday each month. Everyone is welcome.

Free tax assistance offered
POLSON — The AARP Tax-Aide Program provides free help in preparing and electronically filing federal and state income tax returns for low to moderate-income taxpayers. This service is free to taxpayers of any age. Help will be available at the Polson Senior Center every Monday and Thursday during the month of February, by appointment only. Call 406-883-4735.
