Lecture given at SKC
PABLO — Camie Goldhammer will give a free lecture on the effects of historical and complex traumas on American Indian/Alaska Native families and its relation to breastfeeding on Thursday, April 28.
Childcare will be provided and dinner will be served at 6 p.m., followed by Goldhammer’s talk at 7 p.m. at the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center’s Camas Room at SKC. For more information call 406-262-3511.

Ring in spring at hand bell concert
PABLO — The Copeland Memorial Hand Bell Choir of First Presbyterian in Polson will host the 35th annual Big Sky Handbell Festival at the Salish and Kootenai College Campus on Saturday, April 30. This year’s festival includes 25 choirs with around 230 ringers. The culmination of the festival is a free concert open to the public on April 30, at 7:30 p.m. at the Joe McDonald Gymnasium.

Bird Festival returns to the Valley
PABLO — The CSKT Natural Resource Department and Salish Kootenai College’s fourth annual Community Bird Festival is on May 5 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Salish Kootenai College’s Joe McDonald Health/Athletic Center and the Johnny Arlee Victor Charlo Theater. This event celebrates migrating and residential birds and brings the community together. Flathead Reservation International Migratory Bird Day third grade poster contest participants’ artwork will be displayed. Refreshments will be served. For more information visit: www.birdday.org.

Sixth annual AIBL Talent Show
PABLO — The American Indian Business League is looking for talent for our sixth annual talent show. The talent show will be held on May 6 at 7 p.m. at the Arlee-Victor-Charlo Theater at SKC. There are 200 tickets available for sale, $5 in advance and $7 at the door. AIBL will be giving out a People’s Choice Award. Bring your friends and family.

Rural Development invites community to Open Office Days
PABLO — All community members are invited to Open Office Days for USDA Rural Development from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 11 at Salish Kootenai Housing Authority. USDA Rural Developments provide loan and/or grant programs for homeownership, rental assistance, home repair and rehab, essential community facilities, water and waste facilities and business expansions and acquisitions.
