Enjoy Appalachia music at Hangin’ Art Gallery
ARLEE — On Saturday, April 9, from 1-3 p.m., at the Hangin’ Art Gallery on Highway 93 in downtown Arlee, a pass-the-hat afternoon concert of old-time Appalachia String Band music will take place with the Smiling Possum String Band: Annie Caines, fiddle; Clint Davis, guitar; and Rod Davis, banjo. Father/daughter dance, community dance held
ARLEE —The Brown Building is hosting the second annual Father/Daughter and Community Dance on April 16. The evening begins at 7 p.m. with a special dance for fathers, uncles, grand-fathers to accompany daughters, nieces, granddaughters or a special girl. Of course moms are welcome too. A community dance will follow at 9 p.m. Admission for the night is $10 for adults, $5 for kids twelve years old and under. The Rockpickers will perform live music. Light refreshments will be provided and Western Spirit Photography will be on hand to capture the memories. The dances are sponsored by Blackfoot Telecommunications. Arlee plans kindergarten roundup
ARLEE — A kindergarten roundup will be held at the Arlee Elementary k-2 building from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19. Call 406-726-3216 ext. 2200 for an appointment. Your child must be 5 years old by Sept. 10, 2016, to register for the 2016-17 school year. Bring your child’s immunization records and birth certificate.

ARLEE — “Healing the Jocko Valley” food sovereignty project: “Food is Sacred, Food is Medicine,” will take place on April 20 at 6 p.m. at the Arlee Community Center on Powwow Road. Come and hear about: healthy cooking, nutrition information, health education (BMI, blood sugar, blood pressure checks), gardening-101 (sign up for help with getting your garden started).
