CHARLO – The public is invited to meet artist Karen Noles at the next “First Saturday” at Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on August 2. The Polson-based professional artist’s specialty is oil paintings of Native Americans. Her mesmerizing technique provides great depth and realism to her subjects, and her attention to detail ensures authentic representations of period clothing, beadwork and wildlife.
Noles has lived and painted on the Flathead Indian Reservation for 40 years, and has a national following for her work. She received the 2013 Best of the West Award with the International Guide of Realism Show and six Peoples Choice Awards from several premier Western art exhibitions, including the C.M. Russell Museum and Auction. Included in her collection of awards is the Best Oil/Acrylic Award at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum Show. Noles’ work has been featured in, or on the cover of, several publications. Plus she has created collector plate series for the Hamilton Group and the Bradford Exchange. This talented artist will have several of her pieces on exhibit at the museum, so plan to spend some restorative moments enjoying this display of fine art.
The fourth and final “First Saturday” of the 2014 season will feature Heather and Matt Holmes from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. September 6. Call (406) 644-3435 for details.
