Schall wins breakaway roping average in Three Forks

The Mission Valley High School Rodeo team members competed in Three Forks last weekend.
Jessica Read led the local athletes on Saturday by winning the goat tying event with a run of 8.88 seconds. Emily Schall finished third in two events — she had a run of 3.49 seconds in breakaway roping and tied with teammate Becky Jo Dumont to place third in barrel racing in 18.50 seconds.
Schall and Shawn George teamed up to place fifth in team roping with a time of 16.33 seconds. Colt Nagy was fifth with a run of 23.37.
Sunday’s rodeo was highlighted by Dumont winning the barrel racing event with a run of 17.88 seconds. Schall wasn’t far back, placing third at 17.99.
Schall also won the breakaway roping event in 3.28 seconds, plus won the overall average in the event for the weekend.
Jaylynn Garrison posted a time of 21.60 in the pole bending competition to tie for second place. She also took fourth in goat tying with a run of 9.15 seconds.
Colt Nagy and his partner took fourth in team roping at 14.56, while Shawn George took fifth in the calf roping with a run of 28.98.
