It’s so darned aggravating to type this column, hit “send” and have it disappear into nowhere. So, I will attempt to do it again.

We recently spent nearly two weeks with family in Washington State, and it was sure good to get home. While there we did a did a little sight seeing and spent a day in Rainier National Park; it doesn’t hold a candle to Glacier Park. Jim and Auggie Peterson were also on the west coast and they also had a great time too.

It was good to see Al Sampson back at the center after his stint in the hospital, and it is good to hear that Sarah Tobel is on the mend after also being in the hospital.

We send our condolences to the families of Faye Abrahamson, Pat Wallace and Darlene Marquart. These ladies recently passed away and will be missed by all who knew them.

This Friday is our monthly birthday dinner and we will serve a full roast beef dinner. Come on in and join us and visit with your friends.

With the start of a new month, our calendar of events starts all over. We will be closed on Friday, July 4, to celebrate our Country’s birthday. Our Thursday evening meal will be at 5 p.m. on July 10. We will  serve pork roast for only $5. The July foot clinic will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, and cards will be played at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 21.

The Council on Aging is still providing rides to seniors for doctors’ appointments and shopping. Give them a call at (406) 676-2368 and they will make arrangements for you, but do give them 24-hour notice so they have time go get a driver. If you have some spare time and would like to volunteer to drive for them give them a call for more information.

The Ronan Senior Center and the Center on Aging will have their annual rummage sale later this summer, so please keep them in mind if you have something to donate to it. They are also still collecting aluminum cans for recycling.

I don’t have the new menu yet, but on Wednesday, July 25, beef stroganoff will be served and on Friday, July 27, roast beef will be served.

Have a great week and enjoy these long, warm, sunny days (or long, cold, rainy days). Now that summer is here, the days begin to get shorter.
