BUTTE – The Lady Pirates pulled the rug out from under every team that dared to step onto the Lady Pirates’ magic carpet of command. On Friday the Lady Pirates traveled to Butte to participate in the Laverne Combo Invitational. Without hesitation, Polson downed Havre 7-2 in the tournament opener.
Lady Pirate Kaelen Wall blew one over the fence, coming away with a homerun and two RBIs on the game.
In game two on Friday, the Lady Pirates took on Glendive in a five-inning smashing ended by the 10-run mercy rule. Polson continued to dominated as they beat Glendive 19-1. There was no shortage of plate action for the Lady Pirates as Wall and Jaylin Kenney each went a perfect 5-5 for the day with Wall batting in seven. Pitcher Jessica Bagnell not only picked up the win from the circle but also picked up three runs batted in with a homerun hit.
On Saturday the five inning games continued as the Lady Pirates first took down Billings Central 17-1 and Miles City 12-1.
Against Billings Central Bagnell fired up the plate going 3-4 with a homerun, a double, and three RBIs. Wall chipped in four more runs going 3-4 for the game.
The hot bats continued against Miles City. Kenney, once again perfect at the plate at 3-3, picked up three RBIs and a double for the Lady Pirates.
The Lady Pirates will wrap up their regular season with a game against the Lady Loggers in Libby May 23 before hosting postseason State play May 29-31.
