Arlee elects new school board members, levies fail

ARLEE — On May 6 voters elected two new school board members and failed to pass four proposed mil levies for the district.
Wendy Forgey and Lisa Koetter will join the board, after receiving 134 and 143 votes respectively. Lorie DeTienne and Elias L. Peak were defeated with 63 and 64 votes respectively.
The proposed elementary technology levy failed, with 153 votes cast against the levy, and 97 votes cast in favor.
The proposed high school technology levy failed by a 140 against- 121 in-favor margin.
The elementary building reserve levy failed, with 175 votes cast against the measure and 75 votes cast in favor of it.
The high school building reserve levy also failed with 159 votes cast against and 92 votes cast in favor.
