Valley track, field athletes place at Top 10

MISSOULA – The Missoula County Stadium was abuzz on Tuesday with athletes from all around the west side of the state competing at the Russ Pilcher Western Montana Top 10 Meet. In order to compete, athletes had to record top-ten scores in their events throughout the season.
Three boys and two girls from valley schools placed in the top six with the Polson girls relay team taking fifth in the 1,600 relay. Lady Pirate Lydia Bowman placed fifth in the 200 meter and Arlee’s Jessica Knoll came in at sixth in the 400m.
Pirate Jacob Clairmont placed the highest out of the valley teams, taking second in the long jump landing 20-10.5. Ronan Chief Lucas Gerhardt placed fourth in both the javelin and shot put while Pirate Tel Motichka placed sixth in the 800m
