Lady Pirates drop Libby, Pirates fall to Loggers

The Lady Pirates picked up a win at Libby Saturday to remain perfect in Northwest A Conference action at 3-0.
Breanne Kelley was a perfect 4-4 from the foul line and added a pair of three-pointers as she led the way for the Lady Pirates with 22 points in the win.
Riley Kenney added 11 points while Heidi Rausch had four, Mariah Hamel scored three, Mackenzie Banner had two points and Jonna Grant added one.
Polson jumped out to an early 11-6 lead in the opening quarter before taking a 24-13 lead at the half. The Lady Pirates won the second-half battle 20-15 to get the win.
A large first-half deficit was too much for the Pirates to overcome at Libby Saturday as Polson boy's basketball fell to the Loggers, 36-33.
Polson struggled to find the basket in the opening half as Libby built a 23-11 halftime lead. The Pirates came storming back in the second half, outscoring the Loggers 22-13, but it was not enough as Libby held on for the win.
Louis Mohr accounted for more than half of Polson's points with 17 while Kyle Bagnell was also in double figures with 10. Vince DiGiallonardo and Tyler Krell each added three points in the loss.
With the loss, the Pirates fall to 2-1 in conference and 5-4 overall.
The Lady Pirates will be on the road Tuesday as they take on Flathead in Kalispell while the Pirates will face Flathead at home. The girls will also be in action Saturday as they play at Whitefish.
