YELLOW BAY — The 11th annual Yellow Bay Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Yellow Bay Community Clubhouse located on MT Hwy 35 at mile-marker 18. Arts and crafts vendors selling locally produced items are encouraged to apply for a 10’ x 10’ outdoor space at a cost of $15. Contact the vendor organizer at (406) 982-3437, for more information and to register by the May 10 deadline.
The festival is free and open to the public, and includes artisans and crafters offering an array of locally produced items including outdoor and indoor décor, soaps and skin care, photography, jewelry, artwork in various mediums, felted birds, beadwork, ladies’ accessories, jams and jellies, and assorted cherry-themed items including t-shirts and caps. Kids will enjoy readings from Alex the Sea Turtle by author, Chris Dawson and face painting by Jan Bourne.
Visitors can purchase a homemade lunch, homemade treats, and raffle tickets for donated items, live music and door prizes. Free coffee and tea will also be available all day.
The festival celebrates the cherry blossoms that traditionally bloom in May signaling the start of the cherry season.
The ladies’ auxiliary meets regularly to plan fund-raising events that support charitable works and help to maintain the historic clubhouse. Membership is available to all in the community. For more information, call Barbara at (406) 982-3064 or Shari (406) 982-343.
