Big Circle Rodeo rolled into Polson Friday and Saturday with strong bucking horses, fast calves and snorty bulls.

Prior to the main event, mutton bustin’ and mini-bull riding provided a kid-sized sample of the fast-paced riding awaiting fans at the annual event.

The weather cooperated, and rodeo fans packed the grandstands.

Polson Fairgrounds, Inc. secretary Una Rose Graham said people always say there is nothing to do after the rodeo, so the PFI thought they would try some music. “Sho-Down,” a Missoula country band, got the crowds boot-scooting after Friday night’s rodeo.

With slack early Saturday morning, one group of friends parked their fifth-wheel trailers at the fairgrounds to enjoy the dance and then roll out to watch the morning competition.

According to young mutton busters Dayson Cuthill and McHale Dempsey, participating in the sheep riding was their favorite event, but they also came to take in the bull riding.

Rodeo judges were John Harrison and Dave O’Hern.
