RONAN – The Maidens boomed the field as they swept Plains in the home field double-header on Tuesday. In game one, the Maidens outscored the Trotters by one in the nail biting 8-7 game, bringing home the game winning run in the seventh. Maiden McKenzie Dulmes led the fight, going 2-3 with a big yardage homerun in the first inning. Pitcher Alaina Madsen struck out eight and added a double and an RBI. Kendra Starkel chipped in three RBIs.
Game two was a 14-4 runaway for Ronan, with Madsen again gaining the win from the circle, striking out three and adding a 3-4 performance from the plate with a double. Kaitlyn Sassaman helped with three RBIs.
The Maidens will battle a busy week, hosting Columbia Falls April 24 then loading the bus to Frenchtown April 25-26 for the Frenchtown tournament. They finish up the week in Eureka April 28.
