Read, Dumont, Sheridan and Nagy win average buckles in Deer Lodge

Members of the Mission Valley Rodeo Club split their time between rodeos in Deer Lodge and Shelby last weekend, with beautiful weather and plenty of competition at both locations, including a Wrangler Division rodeo in Shelby.
In Deer Lodge, Jessica Read won both days of goat tying and Becky Jo Dumont won both barrel races in the identical time of 18.02 seconds. Team ropers Cody Sheridan and Colt Nagy also captured Saturday’s team roping title. All of them also earned the average buckles for those events.
In Shelby, Moriah Gilmore placed third in Sunday’s high school pole bending, while Abby Knight was a multiple winner in the Wrangler Division, taking first in Saturday’s pole bending and goat tying, and winning Sunday’s pole bending.
