A rainy spring and early summer had many creeks, rivers and wetlands full, but so far the Mission Valley hasn’t seen much flooding, according to Steve Stanley, Lake County Office of Emergency Management.

Part of Delaney Way, “our usual problem child,” washed out when Post Creek overflowed its banks south of McDonald Lake Road, Stanley said.

County crews opened the old Delaney Way road to allow residents a way out and also restricted the washed-out road to 4-wheel drive traffic only.

There are also two flooded areas on Dublin Gulch Road, according to Stanley.

The county bridge crew is checking bridges seven days a week to make sure trees and debris aren’t collecting and pushing on the bridges.

“We’re on the edge; all the reservoirs are full,” Stanley said, adding that a major rain event could cause more creeks to overflow.
