Editor,

Over the years my wife and I have wanted to support the local school sporting events with our presence. We have hesitated to do so because of the senseless fighting and aggression that takes place every so often.

This happened to us at the high school rodeo on Saturday, Sept. 17. I said to my wife, "If the man at the stock gate quit moving it so much, it would help get the stock out quicker."

A woman sitting about 10 feet away from us yelled out at me, "If you think you can do it better then get down there." We were astounded that she could be so aggressive to someone who was making a constructive comment in a private conversation.

We were then confronted by another woman who said we should keep our mouths shut, while aggressively pointing her finger at us. I apologized, not wanting this to escalate, but it did not stop her verbal abuse.

The actions these women chose are the kind that keep many people from attending these events. Please let us just support these kids in a peaceful way and not make it so uncomfortable for others to attend. Thank you,
