Pirates beat Libby, fall to Corvallis

CORVALLIS — The Pirates grabbed a split, playing in two tight games throughout last week. Tuesday brought the Pirates to Corvallis to face the Blue Devils. Though the Pirates outscored Corvallis in two of the four quarters, a win was just out of reach for Polson as they fell 60-68. Andrew Weltz scored 19 for the Pirates while Cedrick Smith added an extra 18.
In Libby, the Pirates overcame the Loggers by one point, coming home with the 50-49 victory. Weltz once again led his team in points with 17 and Tanner Wilson chipped in 11.
The Pirates will play their final regular season game at home, hosting Whitefish Feb. 22.
