RONAN — In 2012, Zach Underwood bowled his first 300 on Valentine’s Day at Lucky Strike Lanes in Ronan. This year, two days before the lover’s holiday, he rolled his second 300.
Pitching that final ball down the lane, Underwood said he “was just shaking and hoping for the best. I’ve been there a few times before and missed.”
This time, he nailed it.
“It is amazing and surreal when it’s over,” Underwood said.
Underwood bowls in the Merchants league under the team name Weimer Welding. Teammates include Brad Stevens, Jesse Lynton, Dan Lipscomb, Chad Weimer and substitute Miles Hackman.
Underwood thanked his teammates, his family Valenda and Tiny, and Tim Corbett for encouraging Underwood to be involved in league bowling. Underwood also thanked his brother, Justin, “for always pushing me to get better.”
