Polson athletes shine at home track meet

POLSON — Polson track and field athletes couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to compete at the ABC Invitational at home Saturday. Standout athletes included Anna DiGiallonardo, who won the 200-meter dash in 26.33 and took second just behind Whitefish’s Marlow Schulz in the 100-meter. She also won the high jump (16-02.50). Lady Pirate Claudia Hewston won the 1,600-meter run and placed third in the pole vault.
On the boys’ side, Riley Sampson and Clark Rubel dominated the shot put, taking first and second with throws of 52-07.00 and 50-06.00. Vince Digiallonardo and Chris Cote turned in impressive running performances, DiGiallonardo with a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.60) and Cote with second in the 400-meter (52.99).
Polson heads to Divisionals in Columbia Falls this weekend.
