POLSON — Friends of Tony Porrazzo gathered on Saturday to wish Porrazzo good luck and raise some funds to help pay medical bills.
Porrazzo, Water and Sewer Superintendent for the City of Polson, was injured in a motorcycle accident near Finley Point on May 22. Porrazzo is out of the hospital and recuperating at a friend’s house.
Savory smoke rolled up from the barbecue at the Iron Horse Livery, 51657 Hwy. 93, where Ricciardi’s Italian Seafood House cooked 40 Jamaican jerk beer can chickens and roasted 25 pork butts and sold it all, approximately 300 plates of food.
The party started at 2 p.m., and bands played all day. Entertainment included Skeeterhawk, The Distractions, “all chicks plus” Troy Ricciardi, The Pains, featuring Chris Ricciardi and Jim Steiner, Brandon Eden and Jim and I.
A silent auction and raffles plus a bake sale kept the action going on the grassy area behind the Iron Horse.
People who could not attend the barbecue may donate by sending a contribution to the Tony Porrazzo Benefit Fund, c/o Whitefish Credit Union, 110 3 Ave. E., Polson, MT 59860.
