POLSON — The Port Polson Players will hold auditions for their annual kids production on Wednesday, Jan. 15. This year’s show is “Heidi.” There are roles for students K-8th grade. Everyone gets a part and two groups will be cast.
Auditions will be on stage at Polson High from 3:45-6 p.m. Kindergarten and first grade students will be excused at 5 p.m.
Public performance dates are Friday and Saturday, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, on the PHS stage and two shows on Monday, Feb. 3, for the Polson School District.
All rehearsals are held at Polson High: 3:45-5:30 p.m. for the main cast, and 6-8 p.m. for lead roles. Not everyone will be called for all rehearsals but due to the short two-week rehearsal schedule, each cast member must attend when called. All potential cast members must also attend the first rehearsal on Thursday, Jan. 16, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. to find out what part they play. Everyone will receive a rehearsal schedule at that time.
Family members will perform in the same cast on the same night, but Players’ directors Neal and Karen Lewing ask that performers stay flexible, making arrangements to be available for either show.
A workshop fee of $15 is needed at auditions. Make checks payable to “Port Polson Players.” Scholarships are available for families needing assistance. Call Elaine Meeks (Cherry Valley) at (406) 883-6333, or Jane Taylor (Linderman) at (406) 883-6229, or Karen and Neal Lewing at (406) 883-9212, for more information.
It is also asked that students auditioning for “Heidi,” have a bus note from home to ride to auditions and rehearsals.
