It was a tough week for the Maidens as they dropped to 0-4 after losing to Columbia Falls, Hamilton, and Corvallis this week. Late scoring runs by opposing teams kept the Maidens winless in every game, as they gave up large leads. A tough game at the plate for Ronan allowed Hamilton to cut into the Maiden lead late in the game. The Maidens allowed three Hamilton runs in the bottom of the seventh to give the Lady Broncs a 9-8 win in Hamilton on Saturday.

Ronan led 8-6 at the beginning of the seventh, but a walk and an error resulted in runners on third and second.

The Broncs had put themselves in the driver's seat to win the game.

Things began to fall apart for Ronan when Presley Chadwick stole home, followed by an RBI from Kendra Newton to tie the game up. Elizabeth Taylor, who arrived late to the game, then stepped up and delivered her only hit of the contest. The hit drove in Kendra Newton to for the 9-8 victory.

The Maidens' last run of the game came in the top of the fifth after freshman Brittney Mock tripled. Mock later scored on a hit by Alaina Madsen.

Marissa McCrea and Madsen both finished the game with a pair of hits, while Ashleigh Lynch and Mock went 1-4.

Kendra Newton hit 3-4 to lead Hamilton, while Valerie Tayler and Rebecka Hood went 1-4.

The Maidens then traveled to Corvallis that afternoon to take on the Blue Devils. A late burst of offense for the Blue Devils helped them cruise to an 8-4 victory. Ronan jumped out to an early 1-0 lead but the game was tied at two by the end of the third inning.

Corvallis went on to score five runs during the sixth to blaze past the Maidens.

Marissa McCrea, Lindsey Clairmont, and Bethany Colman finished the game with two hits each, while Turquoise Haggard and Katie Andrews both had one hit.

Whitney Jessop led the Blue Devils with three hits and Tegan Elliot added two.

The Maidens suffered a loss against the Wildkats Thursday as both teams engaged in an all-out battle at Columbia Falls. A slow start through the first two innings was followed by an explosion of offense for the Maidens.

Ronan put up two runs during the top of the third and Turquoise Haggard’s solo home capped the team’s scoring in the fourth to lead by seven.

However, this game was just getting started as Columbia Falls broke the game wide open by stretching out the bottom of the fourth inning as the team got hot. They took their time (approximately 30 minutes) to take the away the lead and put Ronan away.

Columbia Falls began chipping away at their large deficit as Bethany Coleman allowed six hits, one being a grand slam by Shaun Rowe, giving the Wildkats a 10-7 lead heading into the top of the fifth.

The Maidens (0-2) were never able to take back the game as they struggled to regain their composure after the Wildkat run. The team was able to muster two runs in the top of the sixth inning as Lindasay Clairmont drove in Payge Delaurenti and Haggard drove in Ashleigh Lynch.
