RONAN — For the 71st year, Lake County is preparing for a fun-filled, action-packed county fair. Starting Tuesday, festivities will continue until Aug. 8.
This year’s fair has it all, from the usual animal judging to a concert by Rob Quist and Great Northern, featuring Nashville’s very own Tim Ryan.
“We’re hoping to see some of Lake County’s brightest young stars, but we’ll see,” Lake County Fair Manager Tim Merchant said of the talent show.
This year marks the first year for the Lake County Fair talent show, and Merchant hopes to draw from the younger crowd who are eager to entertain and win a $100 prize.
With new additions to the fair and a few more days to celebrate, the fair’s events are aimed to please a wide range of Lake County residents and beyond.
Fairgoers can enjoy some delicious eats and cool treats from vendors besides 4-H members. Local delicacies such as barbeque pork and a “tornado potato” will be on the fair’s menu to tantalize taste buds and fill fair fans’ bellies.
“I think it will be a good balance of what people are used to in the past plus what we are kind of trying out,” Merchant said.
Tickets for Saturday’s concert are $5 per individual or $15 per family, and may be purchased by stopping by the fair office or calling 676-8660.
