EUREKA — The Polson Pirates have a lot to smile about as they not only walked away from the Eureka Buzz Lacey wrestling tournament with a third place finish as a team, but also saw seven Pirates with top four finishes.
Pirates Tel Motichka, Thunder Morales, and Mike Corrigan each grabbed a first place finish for the tournament. Tele Seemann and Warren Wood placed third for their weight classes while Jaben Wenzel and Skyler Knutson finished in the fourth spots.
Polson wrestler Carlos Quinones participated in the Tri-State tournament in Coeur D’ Alene and “was one match away from placing,” according to Coach Bob Owen.
The Pirates will host Libby Jan. 2 for a duals meet and then head to Ronan Jan. 3-4 for the Western Montana Duals tournament.
