Daines,Tester nominate local students to military academies

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Steve Daines and U.S. Senator Jon Tester recently announced their nominations of Montana students applying for enrollment at U.S. military academies.
“As the son of a Marine, I am honored to have the privilege of nominating these upstanding and hardworking Montana students to our nation’s military academies,” Daines stated. “These students make Montana proud, and should be commended for their hard work, commitment to excellence and dedication to service. I wish them all the very best as they continue to serve our state and our nation.”
“Our nation’s service academies prepare young Americans to become leaders in the best-trained military in the world,” Tester said. “In Montana, we have a rich tradition of service and sacrifice. I am proud of these young Montanans for applying to serve in our military and wish them the best of luck.”
The following students from Lake County were nominated to military academies:
• Tel Motichka, Ronan - U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis
• Carlton Sisler, Polson - U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs
• Tyler Sassaman, Ronan – U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y. was nominated by Tester.
