POLSON — Four people had their holidays made a little brighter thanks to a program sponsored by the Polson Business Community. As a way to thank their customers for shopping locally, businesses urged people who spent $250 with downtown merchants from Oct. 17 to Dec. 19 to submit their receipts and enter a drawing for one of four holiday boxes filled with $500 worth of gift certificates.
“We really appreciate everyone shopping in Polson,” Jackie Cripe, co-owner of Jackie M’s Footwear said. “We had 401 entries this year, which is about four times what we did last year.”
Shoppers who bought $250 or more contributed about $10,000 to the local economy.
The drawing was held at 5 p.m. on Dec. 19. Winners of the holiday boxes were Lillian Stephens, Lucy Carlson, Francine Dupuis and Alice Johnson.
