RONAN – Teachers at K. William Harvey Elementary School traded blackboards and grading pens for fry shovels and ice cream cups Dec. 3, as they manned stations at the Ronan McDonald’s during the dinnertime rush hour.
This is the second year the Ronan restaurant has allowed teachers to work in exchange for a share of the profits raised in the two-hour window. Tuesday’s haul amounted to approximately $400, about the same amount as last year.
PTA treasurer India Trogden said the funds have multiple purposes.
“It will go into the PTA account,” Trogden said. “We’ve gotten things for the playground done before. We’ve had craft night, and a Halloween program. There was a science night.”
Trogden said she hopes the school will have another McDonald’s event next semester.
