POLSON — Randy Holm of Polson took top honors in the Montana Wilderness Association’s 5th annual Picture Wild Montana photo contest.
Holm’s photo, titled Serenity in the Missions, was a first-place judges selection for the category Wild Northwest Montana.
The contest drew nearly 1,000 photos from photographers of all ages and skills. MWA gleaned the very best photos submitted in seven different categories and awarded more than $1,000 in prizes.
The contest has a panel of judges plus an online popular vote, which saw a huge rise in participation this year, jumping from 2,100 votes cast in 2012 to 10,600 votes in 2013. Some 3,000 of those votes went to Choteau participant Emily Stott, whose photo “Freedom” won the overall popular vote.
