FLORENCE – The Maidens toughed it out at the Western B Class Divisional Tournament but couldn’t find the edge needed to stay alive.
In Thursday’s game one, the Maidens fell to Bigfork in the five set 2-3 loss. With set scores of 24-26, 25-23, 25-16, 19-26, and 14-16, the Maidens put on a marathon fight but it just wasn’t enough to secure the win.
Maiden Sydnee Clairmont led with 12 kills and three aces. Danielle Richwine and Christine Robinson combined for 46 digs out of Ronan’s 103 with 23 apiece.
On Friday the Maidens faced two loser-out games. First up for Ronan was the Plains Trotters with the Maidens snagging the 3-0 win.
Alaina Madsen came away with 16 digs and three aces for Ronan. Christine Robinson grabbed 21 of the Maidens 22 assists.
In what would be their final match of the season, the Maidens dropped to Loyola-Sacred Heart, 0-3.
Despite the loss Danielle Richwine finished the game with 12 digs and a pair of aces.
The Maidens will participate in the All Star game hosted by Mission Nov. 14.
