Locals make strong showing at Mission Valley High School Rodeo

POLSON — Cowboys and cowgirls from around the valley made a strong showing Saturday and Sunday, earning several top finishes at the Mission Valley High School Rodeo.
St. Ignatius’ Will Powell was the top local cowboy, winning the average for the two-day event in both the Jr. tie down and chute dogging events.
Callie Otoupalik, of Arlee, had the top average for the two days in the Jr. barrels and also teamed up with Ronan’s Robert Rider to win the Jr. ribbon roping. Rider also won the two-day average in the Jr. boys goat tying event.
At the high school level, Jessica Read of Plains won the two-day average in the goat tying event.
