POLSON – The Polson girls are proving to be a threatening force with the State A meet in Missoula only a few days away. The Lady Pirates swept the top three places, claiming top honors, while the boys finished second Saturday at the Northwestern A divisional cross country meet in Polson at the Polson Bay Golf Club. The Polson girls edged Columbia Falls by a 37-38 decision, as their top three sweep of Claudia Hewston, Aja Starkey and Tegan Bauer proved to be enough.

Hewston finished the race a whopping 47 seconds ahead of teammate Aja Starkey, who ran the course in 20:15. Polson’s Tegan Bauer took third place with a time of 20:24. Hallie Hovenkotter took 14th place after finishing in 22:26, while Amanda Stobie completed the race at 23:24.
