RONAN — Do you know a special mom? American Mothers, a national non-profit organization with a rich history of honoring moms across the country, is seeking nominations for three awards: 2013 Mother of the Year, 2013 Young Mother of the Year and 2013 Mother of Achievement.
First organized in 1933 as a division of J.C. Penny’s Golden Rule Foundation, American Mothers has been armed with the mission of promoting Mother’s Day and recognizing inspirational moms across the country for over 79 years.
Today, the organization not only honors women, but is also recognized as a non-governmental organization at the United Nations working with the Commission on the Status of Women to eradicate violence against women.
“It is our hope to recognize and thank moms for the many jobs they do on a daily basis and the significant contributions they are making in the community and our country,” says Joan Braitsch, president of American Mothers, Inc. “We are searching for those special mothers and invite anyone to nominate an inspirational mother in their life.”
