CORVALLIS – The Pirates played a physical game in Corvallis on Friday and came away with the 28-6 victory.
Head Coach Scott Wilson was impressed with his defense.
“They played a great game,” he said. “They pursued the ball and were much more physical this week.”
Senior Josiah Eddington laid down six tackles with two sacks. Defensive backs Cedrick Smith and Tyler Dupuis, both seniors, each had an interception.
On offense, Pirate senior Andrew Weltz rushed 14 times for 96 yards resulting in two touchdowns. Brady Hislop, also a senior, carried the ball 15 times for 133 yards with an end zone appearance of his own.
Wilson is pleased with the progress he is seeing.
“We improved in all phases of the game,” Wilson said. “We still need to continue to improve.”
Pirates look to secure another win in Browning on Friday, Sept. 20.
