POLSON — Polson schools open Tuesday, Sept. 3, but all the schools will hold events this week to welcome kids and their families back to school.
• Cherry Valley Elementary School will hold an open house on Friday, Aug. 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for parents meet Cherry Valley teachers and staff.
• Linderman Elementary School will open its doors on Aug. 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. for a meet and greet.
• Polson Middle School’s open house will be Aug. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. with dinner provided.
• Polson High School will host freshman orientation on Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. to noon. Schedules will be handed out to the frosh.
PHS’s first football game will be at home against Dillon on Friday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. while the PHS cross-country team travels to Cut Bank for a meet at 4 p.m.
The PHS Invitational Golf Tournament begins at Polson Bay Golf Course at 1 p.m. on Sept. 3.
Both the Lady Pirate and Pirate soccer squads will be in action on Sept. 3, also. The boys will face Bigfork at home at 4 p.m., with the Lady Pirates facing off against the Bigfork Vals at 6 p.m. PHS volleyball teams will begin their season at the Tip-Off Tournament in Hamilton on Sept. 6 and 7.
