POLSON — “We call it our voyage to the end of the world,” Bev Thornton said.
Bev and her husband Doug joined 16 other sailboats and about 40 members from the North Flathead Yacht Club in Somers for the club’s 7th annual sail to Polson. The group tied up at the KwaTaqNuk Resort.
A racing club, the sailors meet to race on Tuesdays and Fridays. Their commodore is Tim Rogge.
The Thorntons have been sailing on Flathead Lake for 25 years and decided they had to have an event that got the FYC cruising. They suggested the “voyage to the end of the world.” It was so much fun they’ve continued the tradition.
