PABLO — Online registration is open now for the Ronan-Pablo Fall Hunter Education course. Register online at fwp.mt.gov; click Hunter Ed Schedule and follow directions to register. Or copy link: http://fwp.mt.gov/education/hunter/hunterEd.html.
For those who do not register online, registration and orientation will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, in room 116 of the Beaverhead math and science building on the Salish Kootenai College campus. A parent or guardian must accompany students under 18 years old to orientation/registration. Only individuals 11 years of age or older on the day of sign-up may be certified upon successfully completing the course.
Volunteer instructors will teach the Hunters Education course on Aug. 20, 21, and 22. Classes will be from 7-9 p.m. each evening. A mandatory field course is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 23. The review and test will be administered Monday, Aug. 26 from 6-9 p.m.
All hunter education classes are free of charge and open to hunters and non-hunters alike. Some students take the courses for the firearm safety and outdoor survival information, even if they don’t plan to hunt.
