Several area cowboys and cowgirls made a strong showing last weekend as they competed in the high school rodeo in Helena.
Charlo's Abby Knight led the local talent with a fifth-place finish in the breakaway roping event Sunday, a sixth-place finish in the team roping, along with Emily Schall, Sunday and a sixth-place finish in the barrels Saturday.
Jessica Read of Plains also had a great showing at the event, finishing fourth in the goat-tying event Sunday, 12th in the barrels Saturday and 16th in pole bending Sunday.
Lexi Bagnell finished sixth in the goat-tying Saturday while Rebecca Lake was 10th in the same event and Wyatt Lytton was 11th in calf roping.
