Mariners split pair of conference games with Libby

Despite winds and threatening rain, the Mission Valley Mariners opened their first game against Libby on June 11 with a rally of hits and two homeruns that the Loggers just couldn’t answer.
Libby’s only run scored in the top of the first inning, and was reciprocated by Nick Crawford’s three-run homer in the bottom.
As the Mariners continued to score, T.J. Olson added a homerun, going 2-3 on the day and bringing two runners home.
Two diving catches by right-fielder Aaron Rasmussen helped the Mariners secure their 9-1 victory.
In game two, the Loggers’ powerhouse pitcher Jared Winslow took the mound and restored his team’s reputation, shutting out the Mariners in all but the second inning in the 10-3 Libby win.
Mariner Ryan Pablo singled twice in four times at bat, bringing two runners to the plate. Olson went 1-3 with an RBI and Bransen Krebs singled. Crawford and Olson each fired off double plays.
