RONAN — A wreck at the intersection of Back Road and Round Butte Road at about 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 sent both Brian and Lisa Mitchell to the hospital with serious injuries.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Aaron Day said witnesses reported the Mitchells’ southbound 1996 Plymouth Voyager just drove right through the stop sign. The minivan continued on over a fence south of Round Butte and came to rest on its roof heading north, a complete 180-degree turn, Trooper Day noted.
Emergency responders took the Mitchells to St. Luke Community Healthcare where they were both transferred to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. Trooper Day said Brian was cleared from the Intensive Care Unit, but Lisa was still in ICU when last he spoke with hospital officials.
Day said that though the wreck is still under investigation, alcohol seems to have been a factor.
