MonaRae Tuhy, Lake County and Montana State University Extension Master Gardener was awarded the 2011 Outstanding Montana Master Gardener Award at the annual Montana Master Gardener conference held Oct. 29 in Hamilton.
Tuhy has gone way above and beyond what others have done. She takes the initiative to expand her gardening knowledge and she educates others about gardening and the Master Gardener program. Tuhy helped develop and run a local community garden and has given gardening advice through classes and workshops throughout Lake County.
Tuhy received the award at the second annual MSU Extension Master Gardener Celebration attended by Master Gardeners from across the state. The event included guest speakers and tours of the Daly Mansion and Canyonview Nursery.
