ARLEE — The Arlee Warriors went 1-2 against three tough foes last week to close the regular season 5-7 and 8-10.

The first test came against the Two Eagle River Eagles. The Warriors and the Eagles were pretty even most of the game Feb. 9 in Pablo.

But Two Eagle made a surge in the third outscoring Arlee by eight to edge the Warriors 59-51. Marcus Brown and Skyler Rossbach led the Eagles with 13 each, followed by Cole Noble with 11. Clayton Malatare added 10, with six of his points in the third. Justin Adams led the Warriors with 13 points.

On Feb. 10, the Warriors lost a hard-fought match to the nearby Vikings. Charlo’s Kolten Andrews was on fire, sinking 13 of his 18 points in the first half, as were Dillon Delaney and Tra Ludeman who added 12 points each. Arlee’s Junior Sansavere was equally impressive, tallying 18 points.

The next day, Feb. 11, it was Brandon Hergett’s turn, sinking 16 points in the 62-49 win over Hot Springs. Mark Fullerton had 13 while Christian Haynes and Sansavere added 11.

David Cross led the Savage Heat (1-11, 4-13) with 19.

The Warriors end their regular season run 5-7, 8-10.

The Scarlets (6-3, 9-7) wrapped up their late-season run at home 1-1, falling to Charlo 24-41 and topping Hot Springs 45-28.

On Feb. 10, the Lady Vikings controlled the game from the start, allowing Arlee to score only two points in the first quarter. Kinley Pope scored 19 points for Charlo, and Hendren added nine for Arlee in the contest.

Hendren paced the Scarlets against the Savage Heat the next day, scoring 12 points, followed by Whitney Malatare with 11. The two teams started the game neck-and-neck, but the Scarlets pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Hot Springs 17-4 to build their lead and secure the win.
