Ronan's softball team split a doubleheader with Plains April 16, falling in the first round 10-9 before coming back to a decisive win in the second game, 12-2.
In the first game, Kaitlyn Sassaman had two doubles, while Ashleigh Lynch and Madison Barber each had one. Sassaman, Alaina Madsen, Jordyn Clairmont and Danielle Richwine each had an RBI.
The nightcap was called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule, with Ronan the winner, 12-2. Richwine had a home run and an RBI while hitting 2-4 for the Maidens. McKenzie Dulmes doubled and added three RBIs, while Sassaman and Turquoise Haggard each had one.
Ronan heads to the Frenchtown Invitational over the weekend before hosting Eureka in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. Monday.
