Ricketts finishes first at state speech meet

LAUREL — After a grueling two-day State Class A Speech Debate and Drama Meet, Polson High School’s team ended up tied for fourth place in drama and finishing in sixth place in speech.
Adding lots of points for her team was Molly Ricketts who became the Class A State Champion Impromptu Speaker.
Rounding out speech placers were Kelsey Koberg and Logan Nutzman who earned fourth place in Policy Debate followed by Reed Hovenkotter and Eric DeLay in seventh place.
Drama events placers were:
Sierra Pete, third, Pantomime
Laura Barta and Sydney Gambrel, third, Classical Duo Acting
Nation Garza, sixth, Serious Solo Acting
Larissa Hanson, eighth, Pantomime
The state meet closes out the speech season, which began in October.
