Editor,

One of our own is in serious need of some financial help because of a tragic house fire that occurred on Jan. 22.

Our beloved business office manager Tammy Barr’s house exploded in a propane fire that completely destroyed the Barr family home. Tammy has worked at Polson Health and Rehab for the last year or better. Tammy, her husband and her kids happened to be out of the house, but they lost everything except the clothes on their backs.

Now we are asking for help from our community, businesses and friends to give donations in the form of money, clothes, appliances, etc. We are taking donations at our facility: Polson Health and Rehabilitation, 9 14th Ave. West, 883-4378.

Any questions you have, please call us and ask for Debbie or Carrie.

In the spirit of the courage and perseverance of the Montana cowboys of old, we are offering you this challenge: fill up this cowboy boot until it is overflowing (figuratively of course).

Please see what you can raise, donate, clean out of the sofa cushions — whatever it takes — to help Tammy and her family.  They have nothing left. Please collect your donations however you see fit. Then, place checks (made payable to Tammy Barr fund) at Glacier Bank; whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated.

We will be selling paper cowboy boots for $2 each or taking donations in whatever amount you can give at our facility and surrounding community businesses. Other donations are very welcome also please call if you have questions. Your donations will go directly to the Barr family and their needs. Thank you so much for your help.

We would like to send all of the paper cowboy boots to Tammy when this is all over just to let her know that her Evergreen family cares, her community cares and will not let them go through this alone.

Of course, the sooner we can get some cash flowing to them the better, so lets dig in and get on this and set a deadline of Feb. 25 to get your donations to Polson Health and Rehab Center.

Thanks in advance for your caring and concern, and let’s not let one of our own suffer when we can help.

With much sincerity and appreciation.
