Editor,
I had the incredible opportunity to be sponsored by my dad, Rep. Dan Salomon, HD 12, serving as a House page for the Montana State House of Representatives. My experience was very educational and fulfilling. It was awesome to watch everything I had learned in my government class come to life. I was able to witness different committees, sit in on reading of bills, and sit in one of the Montana Supreme Court chairs.
As a page, I got to meet the governor, secretary of state, a supreme court justice and the attorney general. As a page, my duty was to deliver messages, make copies, take care of the recycling, make coffee and other little jobs. After serving the representatives, I realized they are all very nice and respectful. The other employees of the Capitol helped the pages every time we were lost or confused. My favorite part was getting to know other honor students from around Montana. Overall, I was very impressed with how friendly everyone was and how much I enjoyed my time serving as a page.
