I also read Art Walgren’s letter of two weeks ago, but unlike Beth Bartholome, did not view it as a blanket criticism of law enforcement in the state. It appeared to me that Art had seen enough irregularities to concern him, and was challenging his colleagues to a higher standard of conduct.
Those in places of public leadership carry the burden of “going the extra mile” to place themselves above reproach. If someone is offended by this challenge, then maybe it has hit upon sensitive soil.
